Well, time's up for the chance to win the sewing machine for the Old Red Barn Co. giveaway! Thank you so much Dana for holding our hands and helping us make our quilts. It has been a whole lot of fun with good laughs along the way! I thought I would offer yet one more chance at a prize... for the 1786 people that didn't win the sewing machine...
A chance to make another quilt!! I'm giving away 12 half yards, enough to make another quilt top, from Paula Prass' new collection, Summer Soiree. All you have to do is visit my shop, and come back here and leave a comment about what you saw or let me know how you like to search for fabric, by designer or collection, manufacturer or do you just look around and see what you like? I'm always looking for ways to organize my shop to make it easier to find what you are looking for! Giveaway will continue until Saturday, July 11th at noon, good luck everyone! Don't forget to leave your email address or some other way that I can contact you if you win!

Lots of neat fabrics. Lots of cool choices.

LOVE these colorful fabrics.
Winning them 'might' make me feel better about NOT winning the Janome :)
I've been to your store many times, just have never pressed the BUY button. LOL!
I look by designers, by fat quarter bundles and just plain scroll through!
Here's hoping,
Jane

I added your store to my etsy favorites, you have a wonderful selection! Love the bundles!

I loved your selection of fabric in your shop, just lovely. I love it when there are bundles of fabric put together so that I can get several different prints all at once, and not necessarily all from the same collection or designer either. But that could be just me.

Great shop! I really like the design. I love your bundle sets. I'll checking your site often :)

I like to search for fabric by designer because it seems like within a designers selections, they use the same colors even in different collections. Does that makes sense? I didn't win the Janome, but I would love some new fabric. Thanks for the giveaway!

What a great giveaway! I love looking at the bundles-I'm not the best at putting my own colors/prints together. Although, the Zebra prints can go with anything...right?

I love the wide selection of fabrics you have. I'm not an experienced quilter so I don't know names, I jsut like to look at fabric by design.

I love your shop and I love the new collection from Paula Prass. Would love a chance to win enough to make the quilt. I search by what's new or by designer. Thanks for a chance to win.

Great selection of fabric. I'm absolutely swoooning over Lantern Blooms... I'm definitely bookmarking your store and will hopefully have the chance to come shopping soon. Oh - that's right... what section do I go to first.... bundles and then I browse from there - and the sale section too - have to be honest!!!:)

Great giveaway--thanks!

Very pretty fabrics! I stopptd by your shop and have to say I LOVE all your patterns! The once upon a time skirt is so cute as is the kiss, kiss purse. When I shop for fabric my mood at that moment usually determins what I end up buying. Thank you for entereing me in your drawing!

Lindsey said...

Wow! The colours in the fabrics that you have shown when you first visit your store look great. The fabric all seems to be able to go together. I have a question though...how do you go about choosing your fabric for your quilts. I have an amazing victorian rose patterned fabric in yellow with about 5 different colours in the fabric too. Do you have any suggestions for me. I am having trouble selecting where to start from.

Thank you for the chance to win some fabric from you.

You do have a very nice shop, I marked you as a favorite for future shopping endeavors. Anyway, cheapskate that I am, I first look at prices. Anything marked sale or clearance grabs my attention. Then I'll meander from there and buy by color, sale or not.

I love your shop - very nice! I like to find new fabrics by looking at friend's blogs and seeing where they get theirs from! I also am always looking for sales as my budget is really tight.

Hi, another Dana-sent-me here. Your shop is lovely. It's well-organized with logical categories, a must for a good Etsy shop. I don't usually look for a specific designer or collection, though there are exceptions: just about any by Paula Prass, and the Lantern Bloom collection are both current favorites. I usually end up buying scraps though - I like surprises!

athena said...

I loved the Anna Maria Horner summer picnic set. I've really fallen in love with her stuff. And Paula Prass, too. I used Timeless Treasures Apple collection for my FIRST QUILT EVER, which you can check out on my blog, if you'd like. I'm horribly unlucky and awful at winning things, but I thought I should throw my name in the pot anyway! If nothing else, now I have a new place to buy fabric on Etsy!!!

Holy cow you have a HUGE collection of fabrics in your store! 29 pages?!? Way to go! :) I usually search by designer/collection since I already know what I'm looking for when I'm searching. Hope that helps. :)

What a great give away! I hadn't heard of your shop yet, so I'm excited about that too! I generally search by designer or manufacturer, but I also like to just look around. Thanks for the fantastic give away. ooxx`jodi

Tina W said...

I also just found your shop. I like to buy fabrics in coordinated groups--either fat quarter or half-yard sets. Otherwise I end up with uncoordinated fabrics that I can't use. I also like how your page is set up so that I can see fabrics by designer.

Grey Cat said...

I love, love, love the fabrics in your shop. I don't have ready access to the local quilt shop, so I'm very rarely exposed to designer fabrics. Until recently, I was very hesitant to purchase fabrics online. What if I didn't like it?? However, recently, I've been loving the bold, graphic prints I've been seeing all through the web. Which means I turn to shops like yours :)

This all being said, when I go shopping, online or not, I'm very determined. I have a goal, and I'm going to get just what I went shopping for. So, when I shop online, I'll search by designer and fabric line. Very rarely will I got outside of those search parameters.

You know I really like being able to search for fabric by designer but I also really love it when you can search by color. Sometimes you need to find things to compleate a project and finding it by color is so wonderful.

Anonymous said...

I love bundles from different lines that go together. I'm not very good at combining fabrics, so that really helps. It's also nice to be able to search by color. There are some colors I don't have enough of, so it is nice to be able to search for "orange" fabrics, for example. Lovely shop!

Johanna said...

Wow, really nice shop with a great selection!
I normally search for a collection of a designer I saw before and liked. Then I just go to a shop that offers most of the fabrics that I want (so that I get it all at once) and if that shop has a great selection I usually buy more then I wanted to get at first.
Great colours are a good way to get me. Also, some reward for buying more, like "every 5th item is for free" or something like that. I am likely to get 10 items instead of 3 I originally wanted...
Well, I know a lot of people that like to shop by manufacturer but I think that is because they just can't remember all the names of designers.
I hope that answers your question :)
Have nice day!

i love your shop and the selection you have going on is great! i'm new to the quilting world and have only shopped for fabric once on-line. i chose on-line instead of the local craft store because the selection was WAY better-and you did a great job of providing just that. i tend to wander when i shop on-line so organization doesn't make a difference to me, but i tend to like groupings by designer and then collection:) looking forward to making my next purchase with you once i finish my first quilt...i have a feeling i'm going to be addicted.

Kristena C. said...

I love your shop it's usually the first fabric shop I check on Etsy when I'm looking for something. My fav has got to be Sandi Henderson and I believe I've bought some of her fabric from you 2 or 3 times. :p I would love to see some more shops with just solid color fabrics though since that's what I tend to run low on first since I have a harder time finding quality solids.

I like when fabrics are arranged in multiple categories. Sometimes, I want to browse and search all of a designer's fabrics. Whereas other times, I want to buy a whole collection to make a collection quilt top. Having the option to search both ways through an etsy site is very helpful depending upon the project! Thanks for the giveaway. I would be so grateful to win!

Thanks for offering this giveaway!

Since I don't know a lot of the new designers, I tend to look by color or by category--like batiks or floral, etc. If I see something I really like, I tend to notice the designer's name, but I'm more familiar with manufacturers: Lakehouse, Northcott, etc.

Rebecca Maples said...

Love your shop, It's one of my favorites. If I'm looking for a particular fabric, I want to just be able to search for the designer to see if you have what I'm looking for. After I find if you do in fact carry the fabric I want, then I usually see if you have fabric bundles available.

Rooshie said...

You do have a great shop and it's very generous of you to do this giveaway!

I like to browse around on Flickr and see what people are using in their projects and if they're good enough to ID it for me, then I go looking for special bits. I love Paula Prass's stuff and I even emailed her once to find out the color she painted her new studio! lol I'm such a copy cat. While I couldn't get her exact paint, I did something quite similar. I'll be shopping your shop, you have some Neptune I've been wanting.

scrapworking said...

Beautiful fabric collection! Generally, I'm looking for a collection of fabrics by line/designer. IE Neptune by Tula Pink. I like the half yard cuts, but I always wonder what's NOT in it? That's one reason I like the layer cakes or jelly rolls but even that is limiting me to specific sizes and possible waste. I am thankful for tags, that let me drill down and just see specifics. Thanks for the giveaway op!

Taya said...

You carry such beautiful fabrics I don't know how you decide what to carry. Anyways I don't really have reason to how I pick my fabrics. I just browse and usually something will catch my eye. Yummy fabrics! I love how you have your store set up. I added you to my etsy favorites and to my blog reader. You have great selection!

sandra said...

i love your store. great selection! i like looking at bundles to see what there is available in a line, and it's easier to choose fabrics when they are shown together.

thanks for the give away!

Great online shop! I usually go down the street to my local fabric shop because I like to see the fabric in person, but your shop might change my mind about buying online. I like how you bundle fabrics. Sometimes I have a hard time pairing them together. Your prices seem reasonable to me too. I love sales! I have been looking for jelly rolls and layer cakes in really cute fabrics, but have been having a hard time finding what I really want. Do you make those up yourself or are they already premade?

Anonymous said...

Your shop is very well organized. I too like looking at fabric bundles. It's always nice to see fabrics paired up with other color/texture combinations. And of course, I love a good sale! Thanks for the chance to win such pretty fabric.

great giveaway, thanx for the chance!

i think my favorite thing about your shop is the way you have pictured the fabrics stacked like that. so very many yummy fabrics-mmmmmmm

Your fabrics are beautiful! I normally look around and choose what I like.

I really like, when shopping for fabric at etsy, if I click on a fabric, and if smaller views of coordinating fabrics are shown to the right of the main fabric. not always the same collection but other options that simply look good with auditioned fabric!
Thanks for a chance to win your lovely fabrics!

What a beautiful bundle of fabric. You have such a nice fabric selection in your shop. If I have plenty of time I just start looking at fabrics the way the website has them organized. If I'm short on time or looking for something specific I like to search by designer. Thanks for offering the giveaway!

The bundles are great and I am intriqued by the reserved listing you had for cee1214. Cool combination! I have added you to my etsy favorites! Just got back into quilting and did not know I could buy fabrics on etsy - cool!

Love those fabrics...love this giveaway...love your etsy shop! I like Jennifer Paganelli a lot (really couldn't say love again!) I ususally shop etsy for bundles and then suppliment them with fabric from my local shops of which there are few.

Left my post but can't find it now, so if you see a duplicate I apologize. I had said that I have browsed your shop before and found that you have an enormous selection of very colorful and modern designer fabrics - which I LOVE! I like to shop by fabric cut and by designer and it's always fun to check out those special categories like your "Summer Sidewalk Sale"...those are an instant draw! Best of luck as you strive to make it easy on the shoppers! I hope I can be as successful as you in my shops!

Great shop! I prefer to just roam around (IRL or on-line) picking what suits my fancy. I generally like items to be grouped by color family.

Emily said...

Oh I do love shopping with you! My favorite way to shop on your site is to either search in the search box by designer or to browse the half yard sets or the fat quarter sets. Thank you!

Great fabrics! My favorite is the Wildwood line by Erin M. I like being able to search by designer...but every now and then I like to just browse and see what's pretty!

Susana said...

Ha! I just went to your shop by searching for sales on etsy. And I loved it. I really like to see bundles. Other than that, I mostly search by designer. But I would love for someone to implement pandora for fabric.

Janelle said...

I usually shop by designer and then love when they are combined in a bundle already coordinating. Makes life easier for me. I don't have alot of quilt shops around me so I have purchased a few things from etsy and have been very satisfied. With all the quilting buzz, I'd love to make another quilt!

I like being able to search in a lot of different ways. I like that you have the designers listed so I can pick who I want to look at if I have a favourite (or several favourites), but I also REALLY like to be able to pick a colour and search that way as well, although I would imagine that setting that up would be a lot of work.

I love your shop, I like that you take custom orders for fabrics! I have ordered from you many times, everything is always packaged so pretty too! I like to look for fabrics in bundles and by designer. Thanks for the chance at this great giveaway!

I love this new line! Such great color combos. I like to search for fabric by designer, just like you have your shop. I usually know what I want, so by designer I can find it much quicker. You have so many great fabrics in your shop. I can't wait until I have an excuse to make a purchase!

Oh my word...what a giveaway! I have of course checked out your shop as I just placed an order yesterday for some scrumptious fabrics. I love how quickly you ship your items and that's one of the main things I look for when shopping for fabric (I'm such an impatient shopper!) When searching for fabric, I usually know either the designer or fabric name and type that in the search engine. After getting into the shop, however, I love to look around and find some unexpected pieces. I love to get more bang for my shipping bucks:) Love your fabrics!

Alice Regan said...

I adore the cute 'Darling Little Jean's' pattern. I've been looking at that for sometime now ...perhaps I'll need to revisit your store and give serious thought to buying a bit of fabric and such!

Little Munchkins said...

I like searching either through fabric ranges or by bundles. And your shop already offers that so that's awesome.

The only thing is, I would be more specific about shipping, especially international shipping. I always look to see what shipping is and how many yards (approximate) can fit in an envelope/box before looking at the fabrics itself.

Hi Ruth!
You know how much I love your shop already! :) I like to search by fabric designer. Usually I am looking for something in particular. Next, I like a "new" button to see what's new in your shop. It would be great if there was a "coming soon" section- don't know if that's possible on etsy. If not, I like when you post in your shop announcement what is coming. Keep up the great shop- you have awesome customer service and everything is always packaged so beautifully. My favorite is the charm squares- especially when they are from the newer lines! :)
God bless!

I love the pics you have showing an entire stack of fabrics - that is really helpful for me, especially when shopping for something like Dana's quilt-a-long. I also like it when you can go to a section by 1 or 2 designer...some people I just jive with more than others!
thanks

You mean I could win what i just bought form you??? ;-) well, some of it anyway! I love your etsy shop and frequent often.
I find it easy to get around the shop. if you you could click half yard sets and then click by designer, even better! Always looking for the fabulous bundles.
I'd love to see FUNKY bundles too, not just ONE designer, but other fabrics that can be stuck together or blend. I know it's a personal option... I recall seeing on some giveaway for people to make up there own bundle, and someone did a FABULOUS one with nature science animals. it was fabulous. But probably hard to sell.
so basically, those are my random thoughts of whatever.
Like I said, Your Etsy is easy to find things and you have everything.!!... That's why i keep coming back!

I liked the Yule tree fabric. How cute! Usually when I am looking for fabric I want something specific such as vegetables; which is what I have been looking for recently.

I guess most of the time I start out looking for something specific like designer. Then go on from there.

I always browse your shop! I have four items in my cart from you right now (if they are still there...). And I have you as one of my favorites! I would love to see smaller half bundle sets. Maybe 4 or so. That way I can "customize" my order more. For instance, I've had the Summer Soiree in my cart for a few days. I really want the black, yellow, green, pink colors. I would love the get half yard bundles of four of those colorways! Thanks, and your store is wonderful!

Thanks for the chance to win!

YAY for fabric bundles! I love that you sell bundles and at a great price! I usually purchase fabric that way. I'm excited to see Patty's Mezzanine collection on your site. I'm still waiting for mine to arrive (I pre-ordered)!! I like to search by designer or by description of the fabric through key words(ie: pop garden, andelucia, mezzanine) rather than by color. Thanks for the chance to win this FABULOUS giveaway!! *fingers crossed*

Hi there! Nice shop!
I really enjoyed browsing your fabrics and your choice of collections. Nice display of mulitple fabrics with clear and crisp photos that make it inviting. Not all websites have that. The way in which you fold or stack your fabrics is very pleasing. I just might have to buy one of those bundles to make another one of those Lila Tueller tops.
Of course being sewers almost all people who will be veiwing your website as visial people so what you first see is very important.

I like the photo combination as part of the title/info at top of page. However (remember you are asking of what we like and suggestions here...) with the tabs at the top of the page being grey and then your box of "Just In" announcements area being grey there is alot of non-color going on at the top of your page for first viewing for a large box of just text at the top. I would consider somehow altering that...maybe a solid color, or a lighter color of one of your new fabrics for the background. Color coordinating with the other colors in title area. Light enough to not distract from your text, but where there is no text one can see the fun new print. Something of course to coordinate with the pictures you have in your title area.

A couple other suggestions:
one would be to make your announcement text "Just In" either different than the listing text, or just indent the list slightly for ease of viewing from the title.
I couldn't get your URL for your new blogsite to work so you may want to double check that.
"gallery" wouldn't work for me either..which after you stated "Click on Gallery for a Better View" I wanted to make sure I did check it out.
The Etsy box color is fine, but could be tweeked even better if it was a coordinating color with the rest of the top of your page.
These are a bunch of very detailed things. Being in business before I know it can be the details that make things more appealing to people. Sometimes just changing the first things people see once in awhile they think you have something new, and you've had it all along. Just a different perspective and a different framing to draw other people's visual preferences. Not necessarily make it or break it items, just one's suggestions. If you'd like to talk more...just contact me at onwings2@earthlink.net

Personally the website is appealing as it is. Just listed things for consideration. I have to admit I like it and it is now listed as one of my new favorites! And that list is short for fabric and sewing! Keep up the good work! May God Bless you as you bless others.
